We are currently seeking to appoint a History Secondary Teacher to join our team from September 2026. This is a full‑time, permanent position that plays a key role in ensuring academic excellence within our IB DP History programme and providing rigorous support for the MYP & DP Extended Essay, a strategic element of our IB positioning.
✅ Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in History or a related field.
- A Master’s Degree in Secondary Teacher Training (Máster en Formación del Profesorado) or equivalent (e.g., PGCE).
- Advanced English level (C1/C2/native/bilingual).
- Spanish language skills (an asset).
- At least 2 years of experience teaching History at secondary level, ideally in international or IB contexts.
- Experience with IB DP and/or IB MYP—highly desirable.
- Experience supervising or supporting Extended Essays is a strong advantage.
- A valid work permit for Andorra or eligibility to work in the EU.
- Availability to start on 1 September 2026.
📌 Main Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality History lessons in alignment with IB DP and MYP frameworks.
- Provide rigorous academic supervision and guidance for students completing the Extended Essay.
- Foster critical thinking, academic writing, inquiry‑based learning, and international‑mindedness.
- Prepare students for internal assessments, external examinations, and IB requirements.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Maintain a positive, respectful, inclusive classroom climate.
- Integrate digital tools and varied methodologies to enhance learning.
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress following IB and school assessment policies.
- Collaborate with Humanities department members to ensure curricular coherence across stages.
- Communicate constructively with families about student performance and progress.
- Engage in school events, department meetings, professional development, and whole‑school initiatives.
